Improving Parks for Everyone

Friends of Roseville Parks funds and supports a wide range of park improvement projects throughout Roseville's more than 30 parks. From new playground equipment to nature trail enhancements, our projects are driven by community input and a commitment to making parks accessible and enjoyable for all.

All project funding comes directly from member dues, donations, and fundraising events. We work closely with the City of Roseville Parks and Recreation Department to identify the highest-priority needs and deliver lasting improvements.

Lexington Park Inclusive Playground

In 2025 FOR Parks helped fund the installation of an inclusive playground at Lexington Park, designed to be accessible and welcoming for children of all abilities. The new equipment features sensory play elements, wheelchair-accessible structures, and age-appropriate zones for toddlers through older children.

Upcoming Project

Nature Play Area at the Nature Center

The City of Roseville is actively planning for a proposed nature play area at Harriet Alexander Nature Center. In February 2026, the City Council authorized staff to begin the next phase of the project, including feasibility studies, preliminary design development, and community engagement. Working alongside project partners including the Roseville Central Park Foundation, Friends of Roseville Parks (FOR Parks), and generous community donors, the City will develop refined concept plans and project budgets by late 2026.

Nature play areas are outdoor play spaces designed to encourage children and families to interact with the natural environment through exploration, creativity, and unstructured play. Unlike traditional playgrounds, nature play areas often incorporate elements such as logs, boulders, water features, native plants, climbing structures, trails and sensory experiences that inspire imagination, physical activity, and a connection to nature.

Below are pictures of a few of the most recent projects, including the Lexington Park inclusive playground, the new Puppet Wagon, and our on-going support of the Blooming Boulevard flower planting along Lexington Avenue in front of the entrance to Central Park.
